Many might believe comedian and actor Bob Zany was born with a cigar in his mouth; one thing is for sure, he was born to be in the spotlight. Audiences can always count on Zany to bring the laughs, as well as carry his trademark cigar when on stage.
Zany has appeared in numerous roles including an appearance in “Joe Dirt” with David Spade and in “The Informant” with Matt Damon.
He appears weekly on the nationally syndicated radio program “The Bob and Tom Show” and has his own segment called “The Zany Report.” In 2006 he appeared on the Comedy Central special, “The Friends of the Bob and Tom Show.” In 2007 he appeared on “Las Comic Standing.” In recent years, he has also guest-hosted portions of Jerry Lewis’ Labor Day Telethon.
Having been in the business for over 30 years, Zany’s upcoming documentary film, “Close But No Cigar,” chronicles his journey through show business. Included in the films are interviews from his fellow comedians: Ralphie May, Andy Kindler, Nia Peeples, Carrot Top, Rick Messina and others.
